Classical music and its parts

The fact is that part of classical music will always be a freak show. Just as it is also a place for greatness.

Remember Albert Schweitzer anyone?

Ok I know, but consider this; child prodigies, new music, marketing etc. None of these are bad in themselves yet they always come back.  Some times as legitimate art and sometimes as fakes (the untold count of too many young singers creating success on the back of losing their voices is legion).

New music too has its share of this--too young composers and a focus on the strange.   Not for the content or meaning of the strange just as a "what will they think up next".

Yet this part of the picture doesn't exist unless it is encouraged.

In classical music the freak show is and always will be a tradition.
