It was many years ago that I interviewed, auditioned really, to be a teacher/conductor at the Boys Choir of Harlem School. It was just starting. I liked working with kids and I still do. My disappointment at my non appointment seems more resonant now as they refused to give me a rejection letter.
That letterhead is no more.
It is sad to see this institution end and I'd like to think that I could have make a difference.
I do. Instead I just do it in Saint Paul.
